    Hello from Michigan

    Hello everyone,

I am a grad student in the Planning Department at Eastern Michigan University. I currently work as a Graduate Assistant and plan to finish my degree in June. As for work, well that's another story. I hope to stay in Michigan, but I'll have to see how it goes.

I went to MSU for my undergraduate...I have a BA in political theory from James Madison. It would be nice to hear from some other JM alumni if you're on Cyburbia.

Thank you to all of you who post here on a regular basis. I have found a great deal of advice and information within the different topics - especially "Career Advice". I look forward to learning more and getting to know more of you.

Welcome from the other side of the state. We Michigan planners are a fun bunch, and so is the rest of Cyburbia. Post often!
SOME say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
    Is also great
    And would suffice.

    Welcome from Chicagoland!

    I'm an UM MUP alum.
I'm sorry. Is my bias showing?

The ends can justify the means.

    Hello, from Dallas, TX!
"We do not need any other Tutankhamun's tomb with all its treasures. We need context. We need understanding. We need knowledge of historical events to tie them together. We don't know much. Of course we know a lot, but it is context that's missing, not treasures." - Werner Herzog, in Archaeology, March/April 2011

Welcome from a recent state of Michigan brain-drain victim. I'm a MSU urban and regional planning alum. I know what you mean about wanting to stay in Michigan. I got to say though, Chicago is awesome and not that far away!

Hello to everyone who responded and MSUplanner, nice to know you feel my pain! I am going to be in Chicago next weekend, it will hard to leave!

Are you working for the government or in the private sector?

Greetings from Central Arizona from a Western Michigan grad. From the JMU alums I know they are never sober enough during the day to actually operate a computer.
