2008 APA Conference - could they make it any more complicated?

I was looking at the registration for the APA conference and I got a headache. I'm a newbie and need to know what the deal is.

    1. Do I really have to decide in advance what sessions I will go to?

    2. Can I register on-site for the events and tours? My company will not pay for that stuff but I might pay out of pocket if fun people are going.

    3. They do provide a comprehensive book with all the sessions at the conference, right? Kind of like the ESRI conference?

    Thanks!

WHen I looked at the website the other day there was a form you can use to reserve a hotel room complete with blanks for your credit card number, but no mention of how much the rooms cost.

    1. Yes. They do this so they can decide how big a room they need. You're not locked in, though. Go to whichever sessions you want.

    2. Sometimes. Often they are sold out in advance, but occassionally people try to sell their tickets for one reason or another.

    3. If you mean a proceedings volume, in my experience, no.
