    I wonder why I haven't got a renewal card for my membership in the John Banner Fan Club? It seems like its been years since I've heard from them!

    They (I) know nothing about it.

    Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
    Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
    Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

    Are you sure you're not hurt ?
    No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
    Broke parts take a little longer, though.

    Some facts about the original Random Thoughts thread ...

    Bear Up North started the thread on October 6, 2004;
    It runs 526 pages;
    A total of 13,142 posts were recorded;
    The thread has a (current) total of 319,067 views;
    Maister closed the thread January 3, 2007; and,
    It takes an agonizingly long time to load (a reminder of why I will never go back to dial up).

    Now back to your regularly scheduled slacking.

    Acknowlegment of Gratitude

    I'm grateful Bear's recent thread is titled/themed "Things that make your brain hurt" as opposed to "Things that make your butt hurt".

    Actually, I don't think the brain has pain receptors. I've heard that brain surgery patients don't need anethesia because the brain itself can't feel pain, at least physical pain.

    The chart showed a certain Bear Up North with 97 posts in the Random Thoughts thread. However, I know (from personal experience) that that particular poster has a ratio of about 4 randoms to every 1 post. He is the master of multiple randoms on this thread.

    Even though my brain hurts to do the math.....

    It seems I did a lot of slacking this year, despite being in South Asia with limited net access for four months! I gotta do something about that lol.

    Auld Lang Syne Randoms

    30 Minutes To Go Random.....Well, JNA, my friend......I may not be single and I may not be alone.....but I am sober and fighting sleep.....so I can welcome in what this Bear hopes will be a better year. 2009 glasses do not adorn my sleepy head. My exciting evening has been filled with an old movie, watching bits and pieces of Madonna and William Defoe having sexual adventures in Body Of Evidence, and drinking tea. A quiet night for a not dancing Bear.

    Hub's Random.....This afternoon, Katie and I stopped at the local pub in Swanton.....Hub's. The usual crowd was there......regular patrons, wandering in after another day on the job. We had a few drinks and mosied-on home.

    Dry Cleaning Pad.....The other day I came across my old dry cleaning pad. That puppy, still in the original (but masking taped) box, was used for years to give a nice cleaning to my drawings for my fake city. This weekend I will try it again. I probably bought it in the 1970s.

    Walleye Drop Random.....Two strange "drops" take place in NW Ohio on New Year's Eve. Both made the top ten of strange drops. One is a sausage drop in (I forget what town). The other, usually getting some national attention, is a walleye drop in Port Clinton. PC is the "Walleye Capitol of the World".....so dropping a thousand pound stuffed walleye is an appropriate way to start a new year.

    Nothing Fishy Random.....Nothing fishy about all the randoms we have enjoyed in this thread.....RTDNTOTO3. Hope y'all had a nice time.

    This may be the last post. If not, whoever signs off this thread, say something important......like.....

    Go Steelers!

    Bye!

    Bear
