What is the most you've ever lost on a coin toss?

I like to play poker and the most I have ever won or lost in a game was about $80. But when I was in Delaware, we had a conference in Atlantic City and a number of those attending hit the casinos pretty hard. Do you gamble? (not penny ante) Any big losses or wins?

I've lost millions in the Texas state lottery (more accurately, failed to win millions). Other than occasional contributions to the state that way, I'm not really a gambler. I did win over $800 in an office NCAA basketball tournament pool a few years ago.

I've spent hundreds in my lifetime on failed attempts to win large lottery jackpots.

Otherwise, I'm usually considered a "designated donor" at an annual poker weekend with some friends from college.

Except for this year: I came out ahead by $25. This was largely recognized by all in attendance as an anomoly caused by a disturbance in The Force.

I rarely go to casinos. When I do, I limit myself to losing money on quarter slots.

I've never bought a lottery ticket but have had three given to me as gifts. All three were winners! One of them won me $300!

I used to go to the casinos every once in a while and overall have probably broken even on that. I have had multiple trips winning more than $1,000 (the best trip I ever had was winning about $3,500 at a casino in Malta, the following day I won the $500 bingo game aboard the USS Saipan). I have never lost that much in one trip but have of course had a few trips losing about $100 - $250.

I haven't actually gone to the casino with the intent to gamble in a few years now though. When I do go into the casino these days, it's just to get my parking validated at the garages in Detroit.

I enjoy playing poker with my friends every once in a while and look at my $25 (or however much) as a donation to the cause of beer and pizza.

At most, I might've lost maybe $15 playing poker with friends, however I'm usually pretty good at poker, so that doesn't happen too often.

$100 entry fee into a poker tournament was the most I've ever lost (finished 1 spot away from the final table and out of the money).

After running the local poker game and taking many top 3 places over 2006 my wife and I thought we would try playing in AC. We each brought $150 with us (each) and sat down to play a little $1/$2. About an hour and a half later, we both walked out of there with about $20 bucks left to our name. Hit the buffet and went home. We'll stick to the local house games from now on.

My gambling primarily stays on the golf course. Normal game is $10, but I've won as much as $50 (lost moret han won however).

March Madness Basketball Pools I've won a few time (in fact won all four I entered in 2006 when the Gators won it all).

Casinos and poker game I just don't do because I just hand over my money. In fact I should just walk in to a casino, go to the teller and hand them my money and then leave. It's quicker that way.

I usually drop a couple hundred when I go to Churchill Downs, which is why I only go two or three times a year. (Mind you, this includes entry, box seats, program, food, and liquid valium a/k/a Heinekin drafts which I swear are boosted to 10%abv.)

Every once in a while, I come out ahead and sometimes way ahead, as in '93 when I had Sea Hero/Prairie Bayou big, plus a $4 exacta. (Should have had the tri -- I had money on show finisher Wild Gale too). Anyway, I actually got a W-2 from Churchill that year.

Don't care for casinos. Usually play $.25/$.50/$1 poker. Mostly I'm a donor, sometimes I get hot.

I just watched a replay of the '93 Derby on youtube. Jerry Bailey takes Sea Hero out of the 4th turn with a giant move inside to the rail and the Hero just ... tramples the field on the way to a 2 length victory. Huge, huge move.)

I play the FL lottery here and there and won $90 years ago. I've been on a couple cruise ships with casinos and take a set amount, like $30 that I'll play 'til it's gone. That's it for me and gambling.

Not much of a gambler. Every year when up north (in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan) I gamble some BIG mula.....usually about $40 on the quarter slots. Just go once a year and once on the trip....never walked out a winner.

This Bear is the type of person who will smoke you on the basketball court if we are playing just to play. As soon as there is money on the game, my famous jumper goes south. Once lost a trumpet in a game. I had blasted the dude in about a dozen straight one-on-one games. As soon as I bet my horn, I lost.

I play the super-duper lotto when it kicks into the 50 million range. As if I had a better chance. Sigh......

Final comment: I always enjoyed the statement indicating that ".....if I win the big lotto I won't quit my job, but I will be fired within an hour.....".
