    Vegas attire

Question: What is the proper attire for the Vegas conference? I always felt overdressed at the local ones. Are people going to be wearing jeans?

At past national conferences in warm weather locales...I've worn golf shirts and shorts, plaid shirts and jeans, etc.

I could care less usually if I'm under dressed for these things....

I always dress up a bit. But I am still in the stage of my career where I am trying to sell myself to anyone and everyone. I would say a bit more casual at night and the grand reception...

Also, because it is Vegas, I am sure a lot less interest will be given to attire.

pasties, boas, and headdresses. or maybe gold lame' jumpsuits would be the most appropriate.

    Big gold chains with medallions.
Velour jogging suits with stuff like "Ace Poker Player" and dice sewen on.

Actually, dress business casual and don't worry about it.

Maybe I'll dust off the 'ol Dead Elvis Halloween get-up.

Imagine the trick or treaters coming to the door and Dead Elvis handing out the advice, "Stay in school, stay off drugs or end up like me: bloated, blue, dead on the toilet seat."

Amen 'bro. Only ones in suits are presenters, consultants, and job interviewees.

I will do the classes, but I'm not going to these social things. Did I notice that one of them is in a topless bar?

    We can be twins!!!!

I will probably wear capri pants and tops according to the weather. Maybe something more fun for the reception...once I see where it is and what the whole theme is. The attire for 06 was nothing like the attire for 07. Or I'll just throw a bunch of clothes in my bag and figure it out when I get there. That's the more likely scenario.

You should come to the cyburbian get-together. Whenever and wherever it ends up being.

I didn't see anything about a topless bar

If I were going, I'd probably go the route of chinos or jeans with sandals, and sleeveless or cap-sleeve blouses. And if you are doing any mobile workshops, make sure you dress for COMFORT.

Okay now you have me regretting that I won't be going to the Vegas Big Show. The headdresses would be appreciated, since they would block out those lame Powerpoint presentations. Of course the other attire would probably distract me enough anyway.

That's really convenient for me, cuz I'm staying at the Jockey Club (next door). Can I bring my husband?

Well I am travelling with all my upper managers..but I think casual is the thing...it is supposed to be in the 80s during the day. My immediate boss who I am sharing a room said lets go casual. I will just bring black for some evening events.

Keep in mind that desert climates have A/C on all the time. In a presentation room, it's guaranteed that the person wearing a minimal-sleeved top will find the last available seat under the cold air blower.

I just had a bachelor party flashback with that comment. Man, curious george really can't fly off the 8th story very well from that place with a parachute.
