LPGA coming to Grey Silo Golf Course in Waterloo June 18-24, 2012. I've been the City's point person for this event for about the past year pulling together agreements and what not. Been an interesting process so far....hope it'll be a great tourney. Thanks to Sports Properties International, the LPGA, and Manulife Financial for Title Sponsorship. Come watch!

    Courses I've played.

It all started when a course in South Carolina over charged me for a bottle of anti-bug juice. The loggo ball and turf tool hopped into my hand that day and ended up in my pocket. The rest is history.

    I can't help myself. It's now a challenge.

You could challenge yourself way cheaper than playing golf. Rolling eyes big time.

I shot an 87 this morning. Birdied the 18th (that ruined my life because I'll want to keep playing this stupid game). If I could have erased the two triples and one of the doubles, the score would look much better. We've switched courses and I like it....the last two weeks we've played in three hours.

I should quit my day job, play every day, then join the senior's tour. I'm almost there.

EDIT: In a few weeks, the Dudes and I are heading over to Carrabelle and play St. James Bay for a few rounds. That should be fun. Brings lots of balls...lots of water and marsh lands.

EDIT 2: I think I need one of those hip replacement surgeries. It's the left hip...then I could join the senior's tour.

This weekend was our club's Member/Member tournament. My partner and I slid in to 3rd place in our flight. Ain't great, but we still won money. I also got closest to the pin on #3. a nice par 3 with a creek all the way down the right side.

I told my friend .... This morning I waded across a raging river,
escaped from a bear in the woods, marched up and down a mountain,
stood in a patch of poison ivy, crawled out of quicksand, climbed up a tree!
My friend said, You must be some outdoors man !
    No, I replied, I'm just a shitty golfer .

Talk about a water hazard -

Golfers in Australia better make sure that their golf balls don't land in the water. That's because about six sharks have infested the lake at a golf course near Brisbane.

Some of them are almost 10 feet long!

Heavy flooding recently caused the bull sharks to wash into the lake.

Despite their new surrounding, the animals look like they're thriving, with some of them even breeding.

The new companions don't appear to be affecting the golfers' game, as players continue to tee off close by.

Four rounds on St. James Bay Golf Resort. 92, 100, 102, and the four of us played best ball today--and we still played over par.

That's it. I'm taking a long break from the game because I'm not getting any better.

We're thinking about another tactic: The Man and I heading down to Naples FL this winter for two days of intense lessons at a golf school. We're making preliminary plans. During the interim, I'm seriously considering going on hiatus from the game . My biggest weaknesses are my chipping and putting games. So frustrating...

I had my old clubs re-gripped yesterday. So when I start playing again, I'll be using my Wilson Deep Reds with new sticking-feeling Golf Pride grips. That's gotta be the solution and I'm "sticking" with that story.

The Fall member/guest was this weekend and took 3rd place in our flight (seems to be a trend now). Very windy on Saturday, nice day on Sunday.

I do get annoyed when teams shot 10 strokes better on the second day - seems like some sandbagging going on.

Hey RJ, I think you've figured it out. Gotta be the grips.

I'm golfing today...on the front nine...and I inadvertently strike the top of my left tibia, just below the patella, with my driver. That's not a good thing. It's discolored. I'm limping around the house this evening because I'm a wimp...

Golf is something that I have always wished I was better at.
The most foolish thing one can do this fall is to vote for Clinton or Trump. Wake up, get out of the matrix, and send a message to the political establishment that you won't play their game.

We all wish the same. Mike, the course always wins, it humbles and frustrates you, the game brings you to your knees, then you hit that one shot that draws you back. It's something that's hard to describe.

    My knee still hurts.

The guys and I are planning a trip to the Naples/Ft. Myers FL area for a couple of days of golf school training. Right, that will improve my game.
Maybe catch a couple of Red Sox spring training games, too.

If you want RedSox spring training tix, you better order now. They go fast and are high. The Rays train in Punta Gorda just north of Ft. Myers.

Against my better judgement, we have a 9:50am tee time tomorrow on the Meadows. This could be ugly.

Anyone think I should sport holiday underwear?

My playing partners stood me up. Their excuse was they thought our tee time was an hour later...but the course was closing after our tee time. We were to be the last on the course.

Tomorrow, I'm blowing off work early for a 11:10 tee time. Weather is forecast to cooperate.

Normal golf day is Saturday and being in this part of the world, I generally get to play several weekends in the winter. However the forecast for tomorrow is a high of 42 with winds between 20 & 40 mph. That being the case, I ain't playng tomorrow.
