The Iowa Chapter Board met this week and discussed a variety of
We welcomed three new Board members- Riley Simpson, our new At-Large
Representative; Elizabeth Kemp, our new University of Iowa Graduate
Student Representative; and Thomas Coleman our new Iowa State
University Graduate Student Representative.
We also discussed the upcoming Fall Conference scheduled for October
29, 30 and 31, 2008 in Sioux City, Iowa. We are in need of
volunteers to assist in continuing the planning and day of activities
at the conference. Please contact John Peterson at

The Board also discussed how the Iowa Chapter might respond to the
natural disasters that have affected our Iowa communities, counties
and regions this year. A number of ideas are on the table and we are
establishing a task force to help guide our organization in our
efforts to assist and provide service. If you are interested in
