Proposed Changes to the 2009 Season

With fantasy football season fastball approaching I think we should consider ways to improve the season.

My suggestion is to get get rid of the flex postion WR/TE. If you look at the roster we have to carry at least 7 WR to fill all the slots and have a reserves for by-weeks.

Any thoughts or other changes that anyone was thinking about?

What would you want to replace them with? singular TE & WR?

No replacement, just delete the WR/TE. The league has 3 WR spots plus the flex wr/rb. Besides the there are only a handful of TE worth having after the top 5 TE its gets really thin.

If we wanted to add a position then we how about another defense player?

    I like it......

I'm all for getting rid of the wr/te position in exchange for another player on D. Better yet, can we have another kicker, maybe a punter? Those guys are WAY underappreciated Fewer punts per game= more points? More hang time= more points? Tackles= 6 points

I agree completely with this. I would also go along with replacing it with another D. Or a punter. Punter tackles are one of my favorite things in football.

That would be hilarious.....will yahoo even let you customize enough to allow for punters and a special 6 point tackle? That would be very funny.....what about one point for every second of hang time over 3 seconds? including fractions? Two points for roughing the kicker calls? One point for every five yards over 35 yards punted? I could go on all day like this..... One point for each addition chin bar on the helmet above one......

I think we already have one TE spot, which is fine by me... You should have at least one. On D, perhaps a DL, LB, and DB, with one D flex spot?

I could go with this idea. Lose the te/wr and add a D flex and split the D into positions

Consider it done for the North (assuming I'll be commish again.....)

Stay up there in the North....safe....away from the South.....kind of like Linus with his blanket The North is SOFT, they would never roll with a punter on their team....which is what I think the South should do

I think the change sounds good. The north and south should have the same rules for the league.

How about increasing the keepers to 4 players since everyone is being so agreeable to change...

At one point, I think we talked about reducing the number of roster spots that we draft for (i.e. keeping the same number of roster spots at 17, but only draft for maybe 15 of them, and fill the others later through Yahoo). It would allow us to start the draft later, farther into training camp. And the draft wouldn't last so long.

I think that you cannot finish the manual draft until all slots are filled...if we up the keepers to 4 we could require that at least one be a D player or kicker...TO loves kickers
