This should be fun. I have a couple buddies who have collected counties for decades (they have certain rules: can't ride to county line, set wheel in it, then go back). Use of a four-wheeler might provide coloring to all of several states.

You know, some of you people are real nerds. You sure this doesn't belong in the nerd thread?

    Nope!
Super Amputee Cat was quite sure that a dog should be included this time around.

okay, this is what i've got. it is by no means perfect, there are chunks of family trips where i know where we ended up but don't know how we got there. the same goes for some of my sports trips in college. http://www.cyburbia.org/gallery/show...09/ppuser/4631

    pink = where i've lived
blue = where i've spent the night

You people sorely need to get out to northern Colorado and hang in my driveway, swat mosquitos, drink hoppy ale, gaze at the black helicopters and dine on greasy Hungarian food.

Since I nailed down a few more yesterday, I thought I'd add my map. Blue counties are simply ones I have visited or traveled through. Red ones are places I have lived and/or completed projects.

Starting work on mine. I can't remember the names of all the counties I've visited, but remembering roads travelled, towns I've stayed in, and so on, I think I can come up with an accurate map.

FWIW, I can't find a county map for Ontario, but let the record show I've been in ..

    Regional Municipality of Niagara
    Regional Municipality of Hamilton-Wentworth
    Regional Municipality of Peel
    Regional Municipality of Haldimand-Norfolk
    Metro Toronto
    Essex County
    Kent County
    Middlesex County
    Waterloo County
    Oxford County
    Brant County

I'm won't bother with individual separated and single-tier municipalities.

    Mexican municipos to my name:

    Chihuahua: Juárez, Ascensión
    Guerrero: Acapulco

    Cardinal,
Where did you get this great US map of all the counties? I hate the idea of downloading all that info separately for GIS. Can anyone point me to a shapefile for the whole country please??
How do I know you are who you think you are?

Sadly, this is not a GIS file, but Corel. It does work easily for display, though. And it is about time I put out an updated version.

I did one as well. You can tell where I've been based from most of my life.

I've also made it to Vancouver Island/Victoria, BC, Southern Ontario (including Toronto/Niagara Falls), and Panama, Central America.

The red is where I've lived, dark purple are places I've only been to the airports, yellow are places I've visited and done some appreciable exploring, green are places I've passed through while driving, and lighter purple is where I'm planning on going (planned vacation this summer, including Vancouver, BC, which is of course not on the map).
