I was just asked to research what transit planning software, manuals, and the like the local bus company might need. Said bus company doesn't really know, but they learn mostly by trial and error and the ops manager spent all day making a route map in Word. Any vital planning software or resources that most transit agencies use?
Check with your state DOT. It may be easier to use the same packages as others use at a statewide level. I have heard of packages called trapeeze, but I've never personally used it or know if it could be used for your application.
