Plans review and permit tracking software - GIS based

We're going to start interviewing the shortlist of companies who responded to our RFP for software that is GIS based and will coordinate the review of building and site plans and the issuance of permits (zoning, building, land disturbance) and citations on violations (all kinds) for our Building Inspection Department, Planning Department and Public Works - wow this is a long sentence.

Anyone with similar software in place have questions they wished they would have asked their company before they signed the contract? Hindsight is 20/20..

    Thanks

We currently use PTWin by Black Bear. We have maxed out the fields with all permit and code enforcement types. We are beginning the early implementation process next week with a new company which we chose through our RFP process called Energov, we are very excited since they can do everything we currently do but link it to GIS. If you would like a copy of our RFP shoot me a PM with your email.

You may want to speak with a colleague of mine. Dave did a GIS-based zoning management application for Cobb County earlier this year and may have some insight to share.
