    Employment per sq ft - light industrial & distribution

    I am trying to find information on the amount of employees per square foot that a building that has been designed for light industrial or distrobution use utilizes. I realize that these are two seperate industries, but would like info on either one. I found some old threads that gave me general idea, but I wondered if anyone had some sources they could site for this data?

    I have no source...but as a general guideline, for modeling land use and such, I have seen and used the following;

    Industrial = 1 employee per 1000 SF
    Retail = 1 employee per 500 SF
    Office = i employee per 300 SF

    You might find this in Urban Land Use Model documentation, or Transportation Model documentation.

    We use 1 per 80m2 which my convertor says is 1 per 861.4 feet2. It only works on broad acre of course - do not try to bring it down to too much detail.
