There is no sight so sad...

...as a lot with unsold Christmas trees on Christmas eve.

    (Let's hear some of yours.)

    There is nothing so sad...

...as an empty bottle of wine.

...as finding in your night stand an expired condom.

...as taking a glance into the second bedroom and noticing it resembles a landfill.

...as trying to cancel your McAfee subscription because your ISP offers this feature without an additional charge on a chat line with somebody in India (took me 45 minutes this morning but it saves me $40 a year).
    Annoyingly insensitive

I would have thought a 1/2 full bottle of wine 2 days later, an empty bottle should indicate a good time.

now an empty bottle of MD20/20.....

    now for my list

as someone who is sitting at a bar / coffee shop checking there watch/blackberry/phone waiting for someone that never show up.
Too lazy to beat myself up for being to lazy to beat myself up for being too lazy to... well you get the point....

As someone reading a sign that says, due to cutbacks, the bus will not be coming anywhere near to this location.

As a well stocked medicine cabinet, all expired.

As that blacklight in the basement that you still haven't thrown away.

As a "Going Out Of Business" sign on a K B Toys store. Good bye old friend, I'll miss you.

As a crying baby and an inattentive parent. Actually, sadness is followed quickly by anger.

There is no sight so sad...

As watching the upper echelon of bank management taking $1.6 BILLION of the bailout funds FOR THEIR PAY...

As watching the current administration begin to "help" the auto industry with the same kind of handout...

As watching President Bush killing the FCC's proposal to provide all of America with FREE BROADBAND ACCESS...

As watching the wireless communications industry sideline the FCC's efforts to ensure that cell sites continue to operate AFTER disasters hit...

There is no sight so sad...

As seeing a squirrel doing the "Goodyear Tire Death Dance" in front of your car.

As seeing a your golf shot slowly tailing off to the right and into the lake

Deflated Santa Claus figures face-down on a lawn.

Christmas trees at the curb on Christmas Day.

Home-made roadside memorials to accident victims.

    A child's kite caught in a tree.

Skidmarks and one shoe on the road.

as watching an 18 month old cry from the bottom of their heart because they dropped their drink.

as seeing a small town deteriorate over a decade as buildings are torn down and jobs leave.

as for lease signs in brand new buildings along brand new 5-lane suburban roads.
Dude, I'm cheesing so hard right now.

    Up Close & Personal

As a once-vibrant brother, sitting in a wheelchair in a rest home, no longer knowing.
As a high school yearbook written entry with the phrase "Love you, forever and a day."
As a capped jar, filled with old wedding rings.
