Who ever runs/moderates the thread you follow their rules. Nuff said.

How'd they fit into the 2010 rules?

Li'l Mo, my tragic 2009 casket pick, is a kitten.

He's not a cat until Morris #5 kicks the bucket.

That's always been the custom here on Cyburbia and should continue to be so. Just so there's no misunderstanding no one is imposing new rules, this thread is simply intended to gauge the wishes/opinions of those who participate (hence the question in the thread title and OP). So for instance if Bear is running the Death Pool in 2010 he can certainly adopt the rule change he mentions in post #16.

How about, each person is worth 100 points and divided equally (rounded up) to those who picked said deceased? Like the 10 point scale but 100 so it divides easier when Castro kicks it.

Seems like using actuarial tables and cancer prognoses could give more points to those death-pickers deserving of them.

E.g. Ted Kennedy. In his 80s, inoperable brain cancer. Not. Buying. Green. Bananas. Easy pick.

    Walter Cronkite. Ditto.

Patrick Swaze. I'm astonished he lasted this long, given his appearance in the check-out tabloids for the last few months.

Michael Jackson. A wild shot (drugs?? really?!?) but only 50 years old, no chemo bags or IV lines.

Seems like some handicapping would be helpful. For instance, in the '09 thread I mentioned Ernie Harwell. He's not going to make it to the '10 list. Easy pick (if anyone had selected him).

Paris Michael Jackson. Not even 10 years old, seemingly healthy, likely to expand her circle of friends now that, well, you know. A longshot.

    Comments welcome (polls are closed!).

    So It Begins.....

This Bear forgot all about the attempted military takeover of the Death Pool. Ack! Sooooooooooo......let's try some out of the box (casket) thinking.....

    Have two pools.

Have your conservative 1 point per death pool. (Red Version, Republican Version)
Have your far-out the rules have changed arrangement, as suggested in above posts. (Blue Version, Democratic Version)

Whatever we do......as the reigning "pool boy" I feel that I have the right to ask for the following.....

Whoever runs the pool(s) must provide a scoring update at least once a quarter. And an update in late November or early December, so a contender could go waste somebody big, and get back into first place.

OK......"waste" is a harsh term. How about, "gently push over cliff"?

BTW.....you will see the afore-mentioned update in a couple weeks.

Now, my good children.....go forth and unmultiply.
