    Misleading APA women!

Every picture of a woman on the APA's site is young and attractive. C'mon really?...c'mon!!!

Isn't that misleading potential APA men?

Misleading? Perhaps. Maybe not all women APA members are young and attractive.

Of course all of the women members of Cyburbia are youthful, attractive, intelligent and charming.

The female planners in Bozeman, MT are known for being young and pretty. I think they are attrracted to the area by the skiing and amenities. It is a running joke at the Montana Association of Planners conferences.

I applied in Bozeman a long time ago. I got a postcard returned saying that my application was rejected due to not signing it.

Maybe if you'd been young and pretty...I hear they like pretty men up there. Otterpop, are you younger and prettier than your icon? Standards might be lower in the Big Sky.

    Ofos,
I would almost have to be. No offense to the late Gabby Hayes. I am sure Mrs. Hayes thought he was dreamy.

I would argue the standards are not lower in the Big Sky Country. The female planners I work with are lovely, inside and out. The women here are as pretty as anywhere else. God bless each and every one of them.

    Thank you, Veloise.

Most places that advertise use beautiful people in their marketing efforts. People like looking at beautiful people.

Marilyn Manson must have been singing about female planners when he releashed "The Beautiful People"

    Amen brother

I can't really compare though, when I am at seminars and conferences around here, the men definately out number the girls.

For what it's worth, my sister is a drug rep with Merck, and talk about a group of beautiful people! It's like you must have to submit a photo portfolio to get an interview.

Wow, you'd be surprised at the chain of thoughts leading to a deep realization that this statement has caused me this morning. Nothing of the "finding attractive women" sort of thing at all, as I am happily married, but certainly self-realizations... Thanks Otter!

That's freaking awesome! Pretty much, sort of like putting lingerie over on a wood chipper!

    It's stock photography

On a separate note, this reminds me of the arthritis perscription commercials that feature architectural draftsmen (as if most of them really labor 50-60 hours a week today drafting multi-sheet CDs by hand or building actual models with their hands). Some of these actors are in their 40s or 50s, which isn't accurate either since older people are not likely doing the grunt work themselves. If you are going to include those workers in a commercial use it for terrble posture, carpal tunnel syndrome, dry eyes or glaucoma perscriptions from staring at a black screen all day.

    What would Don Draper do?
"This is great, honey. What's the crunchy stuff?"
"M&Ms. I ran out of paprika."

This reminds me of a small bit of conversation I had with a former collegue at a conference I once attended.

I said something like, "Hey, she's kind of cute." about a girl I saw that he didn't.

His response was, "Real cute, or planner cute?"

hollywood loves to show architects with a T-square and drafting board instead of a CAD system... i guess its more romantic that way. that terribad movie with adam sandler a few years ago did that, that show with neil patrick harris does it... its sad.

It's hard to tell (pun intended) with some folks if they're impotent and important.

All of my Planner girlfriends are very attractive, intelligent women. We aren't young anymore (late 30's) but we are attractive IMIHO.

The men are mixed....However, I think you're planner cute, Coragus!

If they were to use something other than stock photography, do you think that young people would actually aspire to the profession?

Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?

No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

NOTE the male planner is wearing a blue shirt. The Kahkis are out of view, but assumed.

    Probably not. No beards/mustaches.

In reality those are recent grads in line for an interview for the Planner Tech position (pay $29,000/yr) with Nowheres, Twp, PA.
I'm sorry. Is my bias showing?
