    Hi,
I am a planning board member in a small town (pop. 2500) in western massachusetts (US) and the chair of the town's building needs committee. I am a licenced architect and work as a facilities planner for a large state university. I was referred to this site by the Planning Commissioner's Journal of Burlington, VT.

I was hoping to connect with other planners who have performed benchmarking analysis of municipal community facilities. We hope to conduct these analyses within surrounding communities as part of our building needs study and I was looking for suggestions from any of you who may have performed similar studies.

    Thank you.

Greetings from the Hoosier state, hard by the Ohio River, in the same time zone as you.

We've done a little benchmarking of some public facilities (sidewalks, storm/sanitary sewers) but nothing recent nor comprehensive. You might want to start a thread along those lines in the Make No Small Plans sub-forum, where you're likely to get better results than here (which is really just an introductory thread).

Thanks for registering and I look forward to seeing you around.

    Welcome from the Florida panhandle.
A nuisance may be merely a right thing in the wrong place — like a pig in the parlor instead of the barnyard.

Anotheer welcome from the Hoosier State also along the Ohio River, but in the other time zone.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

Hey there. Licensed architect...facilities planner. Those are reasons you would not be on a planning commission in some towns I have "served".

    Hello, from dallas, TX!
"We do not need any other Tutankhamun's tomb with all its treasures. We need context. We need understanding. We need knowledge of historical events to tie them together. We don't know much. Of course we know a lot, but it is context that's missing, not treasures." - Werner Herzog, in Archaeology, March/April 2011
