    Knowledge Seeker

Hi. While looking for reference material on urban planning, I came across your site. I am a resident of a small (pop. approx. 4,000) Town/village on the coast of British Columbia, Canada. It is an absolutely wonderful little fishing village that is undergoing extreme pressure from developers (we are very close to Vancouver). As a new resident, coming from a big city, I would like to see this village grow and develop, but in a sustainable, character-protected, manner.

So, I want to educate myself on what are the principles of good urban planning. After all, it's no good complaining unless you can provide some knowledge-based solutions or suggestions.

That's why I joined your web site .... for educational purposes.

    Welcome from the Florida panhandle.
Good luck with your strategy. Provide alternatives and solutions rather than being just the squeaky wheel.

    Hello, from Dallas, TX!

I love the Vancouver area! If I could, I'd move there. But then, I'd have to leave the Hubby behind, and quite frankly, I'd rather stay with him.
"We do not need any other Tutankhamun's tomb with all its treasures. We need context. We need understanding. We need knowledge of historical events to tie them together. We don't know much. Of course we know a lot, but it is context that's missing, not treasures." - Werner Herzog, in Archaeology, March/April 2011
