    Reintroduction from 2006

    Hi,

I originally joined Cyburbia in 2006 when I was considering applying for grad school in planning. The advice everyone gave me back then was incredibly useful, especially from Gedunker, who made time to meet in real life and share his experience.

I ended up getting accepted to several schools and chose the University of Hawaii, for planning and other reasons (and not just surfing ). I'm currently working on a thesis involving climate change adaptation, in particular for energy infrastructure, and environmental impact assessments.

I would like to ask cyburbians about their professional and personal knowledge about climate change adaptation and environmental impact assessments if possible. Is there a specific thread or topic one should post to for surveying or preliminary research?

Pleasure to make your acquaintance again.

    Aloha,
    Scott

Hey, Scotch, great to hear from you again! Hawaii must be awesome (compared, to say, Louisville). Hope all goes well -- stay in touch!

Another welcome from the Hoosier State.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

Thanks for the warm welcome back everyone!

    @'Dunker
It's good to hear from you too. I hope everything is going well for you at work and with your family.

Thank you for recommending ICLEI. I have looked at it and would like to see Honolulu get more proactive. It's already a member, but the city is moving slowly, though starting to move. (And I'm a big Tull fan too).
