Newbie trying to pick a planning school

    Hi!

Originally from Santa Monica, CA. Studied Urban Design and Architecture at NYU, now trying to decide whether to go to UCLA off of the wait list or attend Pratt Institute in the fall... should be a no brainer right?? But i miss NYC so much!

Hoping to use the site for help with my dilemma, as well as keeping up to date with all planning issues.

    my interests:
    historic preservation
    community (re)development
    emergency planning
    travel
    transportation issues / solutions
    bubble tea!

Welcome from Central Indiana! Good luck in picking a school. You should go to the one that offers your interest and offers the most financial aid. Planning salaries start out low, but eventually catch up. No need going into debt if you can help it!

Cyburbia was a great resource while I was in school.

While there are more beer and wine drinkers on here, I am sure there are some bubble tea drinkers on here.

    Hello, from Dallas, TX!
"We do not need any other Tutankhamun's tomb with all its treasures. We need context. We need understanding. We need knowledge of historical events to tie them together. We don't know much. Of course we know a lot, but it is context that's missing, not treasures." - Werner Herzog, in Archaeology, March/April 2011
