This coming fall I'll be starting my MURP degree with a focus on environmental and land use planning. I've been considering supplementing my degree with a grad. certificate in Watershed Management. Courses I'm looking at include wetland/stream management, landscape hydrology, hydrologic GIS, nonpoint source pollution monitoring, etc.
My question for the forum is, how useful will this skillset be in the planning world? Will it be worth the additional hours and workload, or is this stuff more the realm of engineers, hydrologists, landscape architects and environmental scientists? Any insight is much appreciated.
