    Good article about urban agriculture

    Good morning all,

There is an excellent article in today's NY Times Dining & Wine section about urban agriculture, mostly about vegetable gardening on rooftops. A few fun pictures and examples from San Francisco, Brooklyn & Chicago.

Called Urban Farming, a Bit Closer to the Sun -

A very positive way to start the day

Good news story. Rooftop beehives have been around for years, but are now expanding rapidly. Even in NYC where it is illegal, there are several urban beekeepers. It's surprising that bees can get enough forage in NYC, but evidently there are enough forage plants in the street trees, parks and vacant space to support them. Honey from hives on top of the Paris Opera House is sold in the gift shop in small jars. The price runs to almost $40.00 a pound!
