Atlantic City and the Monopoly board

I've read that the Monopoly game board is based on real streets and locations in Atlantic City, NJ. I wonder how the neighborhoods/streets identified on the board have changed since 1930 when the game was designed? Is Pennsylvania Avenue still considered the cat's meow, home to upscale housing? Is Mediterranian Ave. really the armpit of the city? Has any significant urban renewal, gentrification, or other redevelopment occurred in the maroon or light blue properties (Connecticut, States, Oriental, Virginia etc.)? Is anyone familiar enough with Atlantic City to comment on changes?

Sadly, there's no Google Street View for Atlantic City yet.

Using local.live.com, Mediterranean Avenue and Baltic Avenue look like urban prairie, sprinkled by public housing.

Park Place is perpendicular to The Boardwalk, in the middle of the casino district. Not really a major street.

AC was suffering very badly before the casinos, then the casinos added acres and acres of surface parking and rest is history.
