    Hello from Indiana!

Greetings from Muncie, Indiana! I've lurked on and off for the past few years and decided to join Cyburbia in an attempt to become more active in the urban planning and design professions. I graduated with an MURP from Ball State University a couple of years ago and am currently working in higher education in a university department that interfaces a bit with urban planning. Lately, I have been considering ways to get back into planning and/or design, as opposed to higher ed, and have gained a lot of insight just by reading posts by Cyburbia members over the past few days. At the moment, I'm more interested in urban design, rather than planning, but I believe that both areas are essential to the future development of our cities. I look forward to learning from other Cyburbia members and contributing when I can!

Greetings from the southern tier of Indiana, hard by the Ohio River. Earned my MS at BSU back in the dark ages but haven't been back up that way in quite a while. I hear they did a nice job putting McKinley on a road diet...

Thanks for registering and we'll see you 'round the forums.

    Hello, from Dallas, TX!
"We do not need any other Tutankhamun's tomb with all its treasures. We need context. We need understanding. We need knowledge of historical events to tie them together. We don't know much. Of course we know a lot, but it is context that's missing, not treasures." - Werner Herzog, in Archaeology, March/April 2011

    Ahoy, Matey! Welcome aboard.
People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor
