    Feral Houses

Today, I stumbled upon this blog entry about feral homes. The owner of the blog takes pictures of feral homes. Take a look at what the photos look like: http://www.sweet-juniper.com/2009/07/feral-houses.html

There are more photos at http://www.flickr.com/photos/sweetju...7621590149637/

Enjoy taking a look at them as I think they'll be of interest for those of you who likes topics like urban decay, nature overtaking abandoned urban landscapes, etc.

It's like 100 years after the apocalypse.

Kind of takes away from the romance of a vine-covered cottage when it's a VINE-COVERED cottage.

Reminds me of a show. I think the name was "After Humans". It used examples like this to show how quickly nature takes over if humans are gone. It presents a fantasy scenario of all humans suddenly disappearing off the face of the planet and then showing what happens afterward. One striking piece they showed was from a city that was completely abandoned, I think because of Chernobyl. They showed the sports stadium. The sports field was filled with trees.

We had a photolog thread in here several years ago that was taken while on a commercially available tour of that city (Prypyat, Ukraine). That area is also available in high-resolution aerial images on Google Earth. Truly fascinating.
