Graduate project on air rights developments overrailroads

Looking at the possibility for a major urban East Coast city's potential to redevelopment a working railyard, by setting up platforms to do air rights development. The area is surrounded by a major highway, residential, and light industrial area. The site is about 1 square mile and still functions as a storage area for railcars and a corridor for rail transit

Wondering if anyone knows of resources (journal article, agencies, websites) I could look into. I've already begun research myself, but just curious about further sources that might be available.

    Thanks.

Check out WRT in Philly. They're doing a plan for Amtrak which involves air rights development over Penn Station tracks.

Check with Washington, DC. There were plans to develop above the tracks just north of Union Station back when I worked for the District in 06/07. I would also take a look at NYC, I know they have done or planned something like what you are talking about. Sorry I cannot give you specifics

Doesn't seem promising since NoMa is still in lease up. Also, several parcels are out to bid, so Akridge may hold off on this one for awhile.
