Has anyone else noticed that three of the four remaining teams in the NFL playoffs have avian mascots? We could be looking at the "Chirper Bowl".

Yup, I am checking my job site bookmarks. Those looking might want to check governmentjobs.com (no affilliation, yadda yadda). Seems to have a lot of positions in California, Hawaii, Texas, and other warm spots.

I think this is the second season that ZG has watched The Biggest Loser. I've decided I can't stand it. The biggest (no pun intended) reason: trainer Jillian Michaels. The woman has a larger Adam's apple than most men I know, including me. I got this funny feeling...that just maybe....well, you be the judge.

Six weeks tomorrow marks the day I broke the bird finger on my left hand. I took the splint off tonight. I don't think the tip will ever straighten out correctly. I can bend it but I can't straighten it. I am officially maimed and disfigured for life. Can I get one of those blue parking placards for my pickup?

Cold weather in the forecast: hottub was nice this evening and should be the same for the next few nights.

In defense of my attempt to grow some massive sideburns, I brought up our 21st President, Chester A. Arthur who not only had a great set of sideburns connected to a thick, bushy mustache, but he was also considered one of the most stylish presidents our nation has ever seen.

Why, dapper Mr. Arthur was even reported to have owned more than 80 pairs of pants and changed clothing as often as 4 times a day. He was so elegant that by the end of his administration he had turned down numerous requests of marriage from the ladies who knew him (he was committed to never re-marrying after the death of his beloved Ellen Arthur).

    My wife was unimpressed.

Yeah, he's headed down a slippery slope, it's time for RJ to foot the bill and be billed by the foot.

I'm deeply troubled by the number of people telling dandy_warhol to not go to the Bahamas - have you ever been to NYS (not the city) in the winter?

My office is so dull nothing like Clarence Thomas ever happens here. I guess that's what happens when you have all males (except for clerical staff) here now. Seriously, can somebody get caught "miss using" supplies in the copy room like the movies already.

It brings out a whole new meaning when asked...

I thought about posting a picture of my BFs legs & feet with the slippers but I didn't want to confuse people.

    Eyeball Randoms

Eyeball Random.....This Bear went to the eye doctor late this morning. I had every intention of heading back to the workplace.....however, my dialated eyes couldn't take it. We have had a ton of snow of late and the brightness was just too much. I even had to wear my sunglasses in the house, because the computer desk faces a window.

Katie accompanied me to the eye doc. She doesn't like my last choice in eyewear and wants to keep me "stylin'". Yeah, like that's gonna happen. So, she chose the frames. I am such a sea kitten.

Eyeball Random 2.....Unfortunately, I have the initial (and very slight, so far) stages of cataracts. Ms. Eye Doc suggested that I do multi-miligrams of Vitamin C, to keep the cataract procession moving slow.

Not much change to my script. Still in bi-focals. Been sporting bi-focals for more than 10 years.

Steeler Is Not A Bird Random.....Hey, TexanOkie.....the final four in the NFL may include Cardinals, Eagles, and Ravens......but the non-bird team is tops in my nest: Steelers!

Toledo Population Random.....The Census Bureau has changed the population estimate for Toledo, OH, reference the July, 2007, population estimates. Toledo is now listed as 316,851, Bigger than Pittsburgh!

(Of course.....Toledo has one of the smallest mid-size city metro populations outside of the central core city. That is why metro pops for much-smaller cities such as Dayton and Grand Rapids are larger than T-Town's.)

More Toledo Population Change in the Cities Forum.

Cold Random.....It is cold in this part of the world.

Sickies Random.....A whole gang of folks at Katie's workplace have been attacked by "the sickies". All the usual yucky stuff. Here's hoping Katie does not get it and pass it on to this Bear.
    _____

My eyes still hurt when I look outside, but the shades are now off. I am no longer "cool". I am still "hip", though.

    Bear
when I was a kid, my father used to call any illness we got "bungy-bungy" (with a hard g) - he likely used that term from all the stories of typhoid and the like during WWII - so I use that term with my kids as in:

wash your hands so you don't get bungy-bungy!
