    Bowling news

I had my highest game ever last night - 186!

I was on my way to breaking 200 with 5 strikes in a row and then I left both the 8th and 9th frames open. Oh well... it's currently the high score for the league (but we are only two weeks in).

    Depends on who is posting.

Random has become, like, the all-purpose, like, adjective for parenthetical usage. I've seen it replacing basically and whatever.

Random? Personally I like the truly dada-esque random posts that come flying at you with no context. Say, a post following a sequence of posts related to someone taking time off and someone pipes up from nowhere "This morning I thought that Trix had introduced a new color and flavor to their cereal mix but it turns out it really was a rabbit turd"

I tried Life Cereal again this morning, it's not bad! Not too sweet, which is nice.

That sounds like a tasty cereal. Or a new brand of diapers. Hopefully not both.

    Government Spending Waste

Did anyone care that the US Taxpayers are sponsoring NASCAR's Ryan Newman ride? Thats right the US Army is the sponsor for Newman's car this year! Why? Sure as he11 beats me. Whats another several million given to the Army for "marketing" - ugh!

No more than the U.S. Postal Service sponsorship of a professional bicycling team although I'll grant that it's a more environmentally correct type of racing. I can see the Army getting some return in recruiting from areas of the country that are heavy into NASCAR. Trust me, Uncle Sam is p*ssing a lot more of our money away with less publicity on far more distasteful pursuits.

I am mildly tempted to post something raunchy and NWS and in capital letters in the dull thread but then thought maybe not...

That's what happens when your title sponsor gets purchased by another company who is trying to get The Network for the merged result up and running seamlessly by Q3.

    I.e. no hay dinero.

    USAirways flight in Hudson River

A USAirways flight ditched into the Hudson River. Evidently its had engine trouble after a bird strike on takeoff. Reports are the pilot did a great job landing on water and everyone got out. The plane is still floating.

It's been two years since the last commercial crash...

A Contental 737 crash at DEN about a month ago.
You get all squeezed up inside/Like the days were carved in stone/You get all wired up inside/And it's bad to be alone

You can go out, you can take a ride/And when you get out on your own/You get all smoothed out inside/And it's good to be alone
