    50 State throw-down #15 Mississippi vs Alabama

    vs.

Another College Football rivalry going back to 1896, although a very lopsided one.

One state is loved by Lynyrd Skynyrd, the other is named after the river that shapes its western boundary.

I can't say I like one state over the other, but then I've only been through them and didn't actually stop. Go whatever state you live in.
I don't pretend to understand Brannigan's Law. I merely enforce it.

This is like the play-in game, it has to be done but you don't really care because either team is going to be crushed in the next round.

Northern Alabama is very pretty. Mobile has a less-famous, but just as historic Mardi Gras.

Mississippi has more coastline along the Gulf. John Grisham and Iron Chef Cat Cora are from Mississippi, and yeah that's all I got...

Mississippi has the culture: Elvis, the Blues, Eudora Welty, William Faulkner, John Grisham, Shelby Foote, Morgan Freeman, etc. It has an interesting history. The southern part of the state is close to New Orleans and is heavily influenced by that. The Gulf Coast area has an interesting mix of cultures plus beaches. Parts of MS are very nice and are nowhere near the stereotype.

Has there ever been a debate on Cyburbia of less consequence/importance than this? More futile? Moderator, please merge this thread with the time waster thread.....both these states would lose to Arkansas or even those $#it kickers in Texas.....LOL
