Difference between architecture and planning

Hi, i just found this site and was wondering if anyone could help me. I really want to go into urban planning, however the university Im looking at only offers architecture. Another school im looking at offers a graduate degree in urban planning. Could I go into the graduate with a degree in architecture? How similar are the two? I really have no idea. any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks
