City studies streets it could link
Goal is to ease congestion by providing additional ways in and out of neighborhoods.
In the last three decades, many Charlotte neighborhoods were built with cul-de-sacs, looping streets and only one or two ways in or out.
The privacy provided by the subdivisions may be prized by homeowners, but the city of Charlotte said there has been a consequence: Poor traffic flow that results in higher congestion on main thoroughfares.
