Buffalo has some breath-takingly beautiful neighborhoods just filled with architectural gems. It also has some ghastly near-ghost town neighborhoods filled with abandoned houses. In between there are a lot of ordinary, uninspiring houses filling lots of working class neighborhoods.
If you want to come to Buffalo, come during the Garden Walk, which is usually held the last week-end of July. You get to see gardens big and small throughout the West Side of Buffalo -- an area filled with glorious architecture from modest brick workers' cottages to grand mansions.
Did I mention my new book on Buffalo architecture?

Great photos! I'm trying to remember where the building in the first photo is located; somewhere on the West Side, I'd guess.
Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell. -- Edward Abbey
Congrats on the book! Great pics! Are you sure you want to have all that available online?
That first building is at Bryant and I think Ashland
And yes I want the whole book on line. My purpose for doing it was to give more exposure to Buffalo's great building collection. Having it online gives allows me to get it out world wide. People who are satisfied with just the online version would not have bought the book anyway. This way at least they see it and know a bit more about Buffalo
