Recommendation letters for MSRED at Columbia

I'm applying to MSRED at Columbia and NYU this year. NYU requires 2 recommendations while Columbia requires 3. I am going to ask my co-worker and my direct manager for the first two letters, but I'm still not sure who'd be the best as a 3rd recommender. I have few prospects:
    1. my mentor in real estate investment who has known me for 4 years and advised me on investments.
    2. former employer manager
    3. lawyer or mortgage broker I've worked with for 1 year (I think this is my least favorite)
    4. any suggestions?

I would really appreciate your valuable advice. Thanks!

    Recommendation Letters

I haven't looked into NYU's requirements, but I believe Columbia requests that one of the three letters come from an academic reference.

As an applicant for entry later this year, I am using the following:

    1) Direct manager at my last job (not in a real estate related industry)
    2) Chairman of the real estate investment/development company I worked for 3 years ago
    3) Professor from undergrad institution that I also worked for part-time

For NYU and Columbia specifically, I think its less important that any of your recommenders have connections to the real estate industry. Probably best to reflect on which potential recommenders can best speak to your academic aptitude, work ethic, and managerial promise.

    Recommendation letter

Thank you very much for your comment. I do not see anywhere on Columbia's website that it requires at least one rec letter from an academic reference..

I think I will just get two from my manager and senior person at my current job, and third one from my real estate investment montor
