Planning issues that involve mental health/illness?

    Hey folks,

as I hope to apply my education in mental health to urban planning i was just wondering if there were any specific areas/issues in which it might be beneficial to have that background and experience ??...and for that matter that related area of marginalized populations.

Not as rich a topic as mobility. Nearby nature and Attention Restoration Theory, nearby nature and safety, CPTED needs more work, kids and nature, etc. AIUI most of the work in design for public housing has been done, but what is weak is the overall relationship between design and comfort/safety/wellness/QOL. But you'll be looking at how it effects people with money, not marginalized populations unless you commit to go down that road.
