    Starting School

Next week I'm starting the Master of Community and Regional Planning degree at the Universoty Of Nebraska. I'm really looking forward to getting back into school and learning some new ideas and skills. My bachelor degree is in Sociology and I think this will augment it nicely.

This will be my first experience with grad school. Any advice anyone can give?

Congratulations. You might find grad school to be easier than undergrad... depends. You have more independence and generally less class time. In general, you're expected to be more self-directed and motivated and will do more reading and research on your own. Of course, this is a planning degree, so there should be plenty of group planning projects so learn how to lead and support teams. You should communicate well, orally and in writing.

    Good luck.
