If you really loved America you would vote on election day.
I voted at 7am and when my ballot scanned I was number 36. In 2008 there was a line...this time there was none and only 3 people voting.
On a side note the poll workers were getting briefed what to do if someone messes up and wants a new ballot. In AZ you can "spoil" 2 ballots. On the third you get no more chances.

Who is running again?
"Election 2012: the event that has produced an electorate awash in -- sometimes overloaded with -- information. The campaign that has seen the collision between Big Data and Big Politics. The phenomenon that brings the Information Age to bear on the grand experiment that is American democracy.
Here, with that in mind, is a chart tracking year-by-year interest in a particular Google search term. That term is ... "who is running for president.""

Think about it. Exit polls are used around the world to identify fradulent elections, except here. When the exit polls don't match the results here, we say ho -hum. We have some of the worst and most corrupt election practices in the developed world.
Eitehr way, I'm prepared to either take off my tin-foil hat tonight or wear it even more proudly! We'll see.

My polling location had a card reader that read a drivers license. It sped things up quite a bit. There was an woman who did not have a drivers license and she threw a massive fit that they made her fill out a provisional ballot request. She had no ID on her at all.

Only having one of those computers is what slowed things down at my location, but I got there as the doors opened o they were going to have a bit of a backup regardless probably.
Does anybody else notice particularly worse traffic today that any other day? It seems like all the blue hairs are out on the streets today driving about 20 miles per hour under the speed limit. I associate it with them only leaving the house every once in a while when an election of some sort rolls around.

I will not be voting in this election. My Obama vote won't mean anything in MA, and I don't like either of the Senate candidates. There is also medical marijuana on the ballot but I have mixed feelings about this and really don't feel strong enough about either position to vote on it.
Trying to figure out why there were significantly more people voting here yesterday than today. Guess most absentee voters thought yesterday was the last day to vote and not today.
No one offered me a sticker when I voted.
I miss New York's mechanical voting machines, too. There is definitely a feeling of satisfaction when you pull that lever.

What more do you need to know, mon?
People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor
Something tells me that I we will not know who won the election tonight... Maybe not even tomorrow.

Well, it's been shown to help fight cancer, can ease symptoms of anxiety, nausea, pain, and a million other things. Helps fight off infection. It's next to impossible to overdose on. It doesn't cause cancer like nicotine does. It causes people to become less violent, resulting in less violent crimes. Harmful? Not according to actual scientific studies.

MA has already decriminalized possession, which I support. I don't support dispensaries for "medical use" because I think we'd be heading down the road in creating a third vice industry to join alcohol and tobacco.
Also, don't try and equate my views with the racists of the 1920s. If you want to have a intelligent conversation on this topic without cheap shots I'm game for it.
In Cali the dispensaries have certainly become a big problem - in the sense that among the people who have a legitimate medical use are many who are gaming the system. it's also allowed for giant problematic marijuana grows under the medical use allowance. It's definitely being abused. Yet- at the same time, regulating and having security and standards for medical marijuana is a good thing IMO. Our system of medical dispensaries needs alot of fixing - because its got problems. But I like the general idea of making it regulated and getting it out from the mafia and other black market elements.

I just gave you a brief history lesson on the groups that were responsible for demonizing then criminalizing MJ. If you think that somehow someone stating that the groups responsible for the criminalization of MJ are smiling from the grave is equating your views to a racist's, I can't help you with intelligent conversation.

The senate race in Florida has been called for Bill Nelson. I would think that's generally a good sign for Obama down there...
