    Superbowl parties

We's havin' a supabowl pahty. Are you? I seem to alternate years hosting them and this year happens to be my turn. Small affair, just family that lives in the area, expect four people to show up (and one to decline at the last minute or just not show).

Beer to be served includes Shiner bock, New Moon Octoberfest (got it on sale cheap, cuz it's at the end of its shelf life), and Natural Ice (needed one concession in the interests of being ecumenical). Snacks - will provide the usual chips, dip, pretzels, and bbq meatballs. Okay, I admit not very imaginative....but then again I'm not real fired up about this year's matchup.

What snacks are you going to have (and if they're any better than those described above, am I invited)?

There is a big one near my home in Dodge City. I would trade Super Bowl Monday for Presidents' Day.

I'm having one simply because I don't have suicidal tendencies and want to openly root for the Colts. Home made pizza w/ italian sausage, green peppers and mushrooms, rotel, chips, pop and whatever else comes to mind. Decorations will be evenly split between Colts and Saints.
When did I go from Luke Skywalker to Obi-Wan Kenobi?

I generally dislike super bowl parties. A getogether with some good friends is always fun- but a dedicated party usually ends up sucking. Inevitably you end up with half the people knowing nothing about football but pretending for one day to be football fans. Its annoying.

No party for this Bear. Monday is a "be at the office at 5:30 AM" day, so I will be fortunate to make it through the game. Probably will and will drag bruin butt all day Monday.

Haven't been to a SB party in a long time. Last couple of years, including the Pittsburgh Steelers big win last year, have been home affairs. The year the Steelers beat Seattle, Katie and I watched it at Frogtown's North, a local bar.

    Prediction:

    Indianapolis 24
    New Orleans 20

4 couples and 3 kids with wings, hot dogs and chili accompanied by mutli types of beverages at our house

Nobody in our group really have a stake in the game, except for the $5 entry fee for the side game. You get a point for each answer and the winner takes the $.
    Questions are:
    • closest final score (total points)
    • first team to score
    • which quarter first score
    • first team to get a first down
    • first team to punt
    • first commercial (car, food, drugs, insurance, other)
    • first play (pass or run)
    • first play will be how long (loss, 0-5 yds., 6-10, 11-15, 16-20, 21+)
    • first team to call time out
    • first team to receive a penalty
    • first team to turn over the ball
    • first type of turnover (fumble or interception)

There are about 10 more, but I can't remember them off the top of my head.

I completely forgot about the Super Bowl when I booked my trip. At least the town that I am going to I have been invited to a group party. Could be fun. However, I may only know one person.
