Going to be in Tucson for Valentine's Day

So, I'm going to be in the Tucson area next weekend for a very quick trip. I get in town around lunchtime Sunday, and am leaving Monday afternoon. I know it's valentine's day, but I was wondering if anybody's up for a mini-laefest Sunday night? Monday is a holiday (for some people), so if Monday early lunch works better, I can do that.

I'll be about 30 minutes east of downtown. I need recommendations for places to meet, and it'd better be find-able on the car's GPS!

Of course we know a lot, but it is context that's missing, not treasures." - Werner Herzog, in Archaeology, March/April 2011

I don't think I can drive there and back during my lunch hour. Thanks for the invite.

Can you change your plans to Phoenix? Myself, and Boiker are all in the valley. The One is in death valley so he probably can't make it.

I know there are a few other AZ'ers on the boards but I cannot remember who.

In Tucson, I would head to 4th Ave. http://www.fourthavenue.org/

When I am in Browntown I like to grab a drink at The Shanty. Its address is 401 E. 9th St...which is off of 4th Ave.

Can't change the plans - driving with someone into Tucson and then flying out the next day. It's a 4 day weekend for me - furlough day Friday and holiday Monday. I am such a good friend for sacrificing my time off to do this!

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll try it out, even if it's on my own!

    Country Song

The title of this thread sounds like a country song title. Let's try a verse.....

"I'm going to be in Tucson
    For Valentine's Day,
    My hat will be hangin',
    It's old, stained, and gray;
    But you'll be in 'Frisco
    With that other guy,
    And he's from Cyburbia
    so I'm jist gonna die."
