[IowaAPA] Facade Improvement Grant Programs?

All,



We had a local retail business recently inquire about facade improvement
funding. Although years ago, Pella did have a local program for the Dutch
fronts, we do not currently have any local funding program. Aside from
re-establishing a new local program with City matching and/or private funds,
are there any State or Federal programs that communities are using for
downtown facade improvements and if so what are the criteria?

George: Dubuque has a program, but it's locally funded and covers the downtown area only. I think it is $25K max. Rich

George,

I believe the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines still has a Community Investment Program that allows for façade improvement. The City would have to work with a local bank that is a member of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines to access these funds.
