My first degree is civil engineering so I am strongly considering a concurrent MURP+MSCE program at one of the schools I've been admitted to (UC-Irvine). It doesn't take any longer than the individual degree and you graduate with both a masters in planning and a masters in engineering. You can concentrate in either Transportation or Environmental hydrology/water resources and I am interested in both of these areas so that's good. The only drawback is that I would basically have no electives in the planning department left after taking all the civil engineering courses.

Does anyone have experience or opinions on similar concurrent planning/engineering masters programs?

Thanks.
