I don't know why this popped into my head out of all the movies I've seen but . . .

Its the tower in Bruges, Belgium from the movie In Bruges.

Correct! You guys are sharp. It is the Brugge Belfort. Every town of any size in Flanders has a medieval belfry.

The town presented in the film In Bruges is way cooler than the actual city. While it is pretty, it's really a lot of historic looking facades, overpriced chocolate shops, and is overrun with English tourists.

Really? How disappointing. My husband & I love the movie, and have talked about going there someday.

No, please go to Belgium! What a great destination. It's the land of chocolate and beer. Plus, they like Americans, so what's not to love? I'd just suggest staying in another city and daytripping to Brugge.
