As an area in my neighbourhood is seeking historical designation on some houses,
it led me to question whether this was really nibyism disguising as something else,
particularly as my area has been resistant to higher density and affordable housing and clearly such development would not only take those sites off the list but would set a precedent re: the percieved building type an characteristis of the neighbourhood which might in turn slow down other infill development. Your thoughts? Has anyone encountered this? Is this a general phenomena, or am I just overly sensitive/cynical?
