It's been a life long dream to work for a rail transit agency with a strong TOD/TJD program or for a developer which specializes in transit-oriented development. I'm confident I have the educational background (finance/real estate/ms in planning with transportation emphasis), but what kind of work experience would be needed to break into this field, considering the current economic climate.
I have a little under 3 years experience in land acquisition and dealing with the feds. I currently work in housing and community development. Any insight would be appreciated.
