Along Solano Avenue; a very walkable neighborhood.

I felt very safe walking the streets of Berkeley.

Great pics! Thanks for posting. I was up there in June and October visiting friends at Boalt and was lucky enough to get introduced to Ici.

Old Volvo? Check. Houses with "non-lawns"? Check. Sushi and Yogalates dance studios? Check. Nuclear-free zone? Check. Yep. It's Berkeley.

Berkeley is beautiful (beauty is in the eye of the beholder, of course). My masters project focused on town-gown in the City of Berkeley.

Headline: Berkley Church has the Power to Read the Future

According to this billboard, I do not want to be in Berkley on May 21, 2011 around 10am

Other than the crazy billboard message, the town looks adorable!

It's a city with no shopping centers, a strong downtown, a large college, and plenty of stores and places for college students and college graduates. I would not live there because the people are way anti-religious, but I will say it has a nice downtown and vibe.

The lack of a large shopping center that is full of chain stores is precisely why Berkeley is so quaint.
