We were so poor growing up that my family didn't have lids or seats. When I moved into my first apartment, I removed the lid and seat. This is a lifestyle that I have adopted. If I had a lid or seat, I probably keep them in the down position.

Neither - it belongs under the sink. If it's on the hanger, the cat destroys it immediately. If I store it on the tank it might last a few days. The only way to keep it safe from the little bugger is to keep it locked away.....

I believe in putting the whole lid down so men and women both have to lift the seat. A politically correct inconvenience for all.

lol...that was one of the topics on the local morning radio show...a lot of the comments that came in thought it wasn't manly. my ex was a sitter and said it was due to him being raised in a house with six brothers and two sisters, his mom made them do that so she wasn't cleaning up after six boys.

This Bear keeps the seat down, courtesy to Katie and my step-son's GF.

Noticed in the responses a number of comments about urinals. For real, one of my former employees installed a urinal in one of the bathrooms of his Sylvania, OH, home. He has two younger boys, urinals use much less water.

How ever I do like "Sinbad's" explanation of why he leaves it up----otherwise some one will "soil" (my words not his- his were more graphic) the seat
So he feels that it is better to leave it up

while watching his act, and he explained this theory, Mrs Katt said in aside "dont even think about it"

And yes I do leave it down--now one could say that I have no "guts" or I am merely a thoughtful fellow
