Article HEADLINE: Author explores contradictions of 'company towns'

The Company Town: The Industrial Edens and Satanic Mills that Shaped the American Economy
    (Basic Books, 248 pages, $26.95)

The most modern version of the company town, Green says, has found a new form in the corporate campus, such as Google's Mountain View, Calif., headquarters and PepsiCo's Purchase, N.Y., headquarters. He understands that the "velvet-glove approach is not without its downside. ... Employees need never leave such a cosseting environment — or ever truly end a working day."

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Are you sure you're not hurt ?

Broke parts take a little longer, though.

Google's campus is pretty nice - there's a pool and cafes. I didn't stay long because I was trespassing, but I got the impression that yes, you would never have to leave.
