    A village in Afghanistan

I just posted 19 pictures of an annonymous village in Afghanistan in the Cyburbia "Gallery" section under "other places."

The pictures were sent to me by email attachment without any copyright info.

The village is very "Hobbit-like" to me.

This appears to be a community of human-scale, compatible design, blending of form with natural surroundings, closely knit (with no setbacks), and minimalist architecture and interiors.

    I have no other info.

I suppose It's not located in Afghanistan !!

    Thanks for the pictures,
but i want to inform u that it's not a village in Afghanistan but its located in north west of Iran named Kandovan,

    check this out:
    http://www.hoax-slayer.com/troglodytic-village.shtml
and read the bottom of the page:
" The village depicted in the photographs is not located in Afghanistan at all. In fact, the village can be found in the northwest corner of neighboring Iran, about 60 kilometers from the city of Tabriz. Known as "Kandovan""

U can find more pics, I have visited this village myself and it's astonishing !

WOW! And for the last 30 years I thought Bedrock was the fictional town the Flintstones lived in.

That is very cool, kind of a modern Mesa Verde. I would love to see how those living units are carved out from the interior of the rock. As harsh as the environment seems this village dipiction is quite warm in my opinion.
