The 2010 All I Want For Christmas Thread

All I want for Christmas is...

A new job in the Pacific Northwest

A home where I can sleep without the aid of a white noise machine and a pillow over my ear

A job that makes me smile

and, of course, to keep my two front teeth

are some gift ideas for ZG. We've agreed to a limit but she is so difficult to pick out a gift for.

    All-time favorite gift

    New wiper blades. Installed.

No, it doesn't count to present a box with a package of wiper blades and a container of Rain-X. Sneak over and install them on the target vehicle!

One year I was working a a manufacturer of bicycle touring bags, and in their outlet bins were car visor organizers. I got one ($4 IIRC) for each of the subject vehicles, and velcro'ed them into position when the owners weren't looking. Everyone was pleased.

All I want for Christmas is for my three outstanding (in the "yet to be delivered", not "awesome" sense of the word) (out of 5 total) references to complete their letters of recommendation for my law school applications prior to the Dec. 31 priority deadlines that a couple of the schools on my list have for scholarship consideration.

Of course, I wouldn't mind having what's remaining of my wife's 2008 ER bill forgiven or reaching some reduced cash settlement, either.

Mmmm, the holiday Hickory Farm store is open at our local mall. I tried to talk the BF into purchasing some beef log and sweet & sour sauce but he wasn't as enticed by the idea as I was.

Me too, but a bigger jackpot ($7 million) and I have plenty of socks.

And of course world peace, good will of all men and woman, for the economy to turn around for the good and politicians to start working together.

On second thought, just the winning Hot Lotto jackpot ticket, and the health and well-being of my family.

    Screw the rest of you!

Lols. I can forward you the info if they decide to refill my position when I leave. But despite a large workload, with sales taxes down the city manager is toying with the idea of not re-filling my position and spending the money on a monument to himself (figuratively speaking).
