    2011 Cyburbian Death Pool

Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends. Time for Cyburbians to submit their nominations for the 2011 Cyburbian Death Pool. The rules remain the same.....submit 10 names of well-known folks that you think will dance with death in Year 2011. You may submit an 11th name as an "alternate", in case one of your submissions slide into the coffin prior-to the new year. (No more than 11 are allowed, though.)

This thread will self-destruct after Midnight on New Year's Eve. When the death list begins in early 2011, somebody in Cyburbialand will jump-start an update thread. This Bear will keep score, providing quarterly updates.

Generally speaking, we Cyburbians are not very good at this game. There are a number of web sites that can help you chose OR you can just take wild-ass guesses. Have fun and good hunting!

I am resubmitting my 2010 list for 2011 with one exception, Juan Antonio Samaranche, who had the good graces to expire in April. I'm promoting Queen Elizabeth II from the bench to the lineup to replace him. Since none of the rest have thanked me for prolonging their lives, I now hereby declare them as dead to me.

    Kim Jong-il
    Margaret Thatcher
    Fidel Castro
    Queen Elizabeth II
    Vicente Fox
    John Turner
    Malcolm Fraser
    Yasuhiro Nakasone

Yeah, this year it was actors in "Airplane" which I realized watching an NBC list of dead people last night (Peter Graves, Barbara Billingsley, and Leslie Nielsen). So maybe this is the year of the old sitcom people. Or, for Safege, obscure comedians that only us older Cybs remember..

    Final Countdown

Throw a rose on this casket of a thread, as it is lowered into the hole. As official Moderator of this thread I will not accept any submissions for the Cyburbia Death Pool - 2011 Version after Midnight, EST. The real mod team will close the thread. When a well-known person kicks the bucket in early 2011, first person to post starts the official "Cyburbia Death Pool 2011 Update" thread.

Somebody go pull a plug or step on an air line. Let's get this thing rolling.
