Medal of Honor to be awarded - Living recipient

On Thurday, 2011-09-15, in a White House ceremony, BHO will award a Medal of Honor to US Marine Corps Corporal Dakota Meyer of Greensburg, KY, for actions taken in Afghanistan in 2009. Very simplified, over a six hour period, while in a narrow valley, he singlehandedly killed eight Taliban fighters and rescued 26 Afghan soldiers and USA Marines from an ambush.

    SALUTE!

    --------------

With the awarding of the MoH to Dakota Meyer and the recent passing of Charles P. Murray, Jr., there will now be 85 surviving living recipients.

Minor correction (typo), it was 36 Marines' and Afghan soldiers' lives saved by Meyer (23 Afghans and 13 US Marines).
