    The Aflac duck thread

Who here thinks/knows that Maister should/must try out for this -

Aflac seeks new voice for its duck

    Oddball
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?
    From Kelly's Heroes (1970)

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

This is my vote for MonkeyWife as a Punk Rock Girl, and for Maister trying out for the new AFLAC duck voice. And, for Dandy trying the brunette thing. Why not? Count it.

All joking aside, I actually will be sending a demo tape in. I do radio and voice-over work as a source of supplemental income. I'd optimistically put the odds of me landing the gig, though, as being somewhere between slim and none.

Maybe you should change your avatar back to the duck to build up your inner-ducky qualities before applying?

Edit: I borrowed this image (the duck looking at the camera) from NatGeo for my desktop background. I think this duck might just have a resemblance to you Maister!

I would guess they are going to go with someone famous again... maybe fran dresher since that seems to be what they are going for...

Maist, I hope you'll accept the runner-up position, which is that the voice in my head for your posts from now on will be the aflac duck. You used to be Steve Innskeep. Hope you're not disappointed.

I'm sorely disappointed. I'm also changing insurance companies.

I am also sorry you didn't get the gig, Maister.

The silver lining, I guess, is you are now free to make any off-the-cuff, politically incorrect statements about race, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, and/or natural disasters that you like without fear of losing a lucrative endorsement deal.

Pity the winner, now living in that glass bowl.

    This is what you said.....

This is what I heard....."Quack Quack Squawk... flapping briskly, shakes head twitchilly...Quack... extends neck... AFLAC!!"

I'm so seldom bored it's frightening.
